EL MEJUNJE is a cultural center located in the Cuban city of Santa Clara. Known as everyone's home, this center was created with the intention to socialize the most vulnerable sector and sexually diverse people, among others. Originally conceived as a mere meeting place for friends and intellectuals at the Guinol Theatre in Santa Clara, its founder, Ramon Silverio, began dreaming of creating a cultural center. He was looking for a space where intellectuals, artists, or anyone interested in arts, could come together. It hasn't been easy, but the current space that Silverio named EL MEJUNJE became forty years old, and it is currently a reference point for cuban culture and diversity.
